Does anyone know if the casino at the Occidental is open or when it will reopen?thanks.

I have just come from Aruba and the Casino is closed at the Occidental.I was told they will remain closed for 3-4 months for renovations.IMHO they needed to renovate that casino and update the equipment too.The rest of the place is great.You will love it there and the food is very good.

As of 9/4/10 it was apparently closed for renovations.

There was a "subscription only" article titled "Radisson casino operator to Occidental" posted on Amigoe.com on October 29.

Just returned from my wonderful vacation, went to visit Occidental Casino, was suprised they were closed they said they were closed for renovations until December 1

so as of today...........
Westin casino closed due to financial issues.
Occidential casino closed for renovations.
Key Largo casino closed when the Aruban shut down 11 mos ago.

i just returned last weekend from aruba and stayed at the occidental and it was still closed.
i do not have an ETA for opening

I hope they reopen by the end of Feb 2011.

If not there are other casinos to choose from.

the staff at the occidental casino, are all at the radisson. for years they have been promised upgrades, believe me they want the casino renovated and want too return home....

Maybe they will have chips that actually have their name on them and not the old Allegro chips!! I will have to look out for that.

When I was there in July which was when it closed, they said that it should be open by Thangsgiving. But who knows.
