Poker in Aruba?

I realize Ultimate Bet has a big tournament each fall but which casinos have poker on a regular basis? I'm staying at the Renaissance and one posting I saw had the Crystal Casino (located there) with poker but haven't gotten a confirmation. The only thread I saw on this was from some time ago so I'd appreciate any current information on which casinos have poker going on a regular basis. Also, if you happen to know the games spread (I assume all holdem unless I hear otherwise, type (limit or no-limit) and stakes I'd be very grateful for the informaton.

Thanks in advance

welcome to the aruba.com community forum.

i know that the HOLIDAY INN EXCELSIOR CASINO is well know for its poker.
In all my years traveling to Aruba, the H. I. poker has remained constant.

We are here now and it sounds like the HI has better action. They usually have a different tournament every night starting at 7pm. 2-5 no-limit Hold'em, 4-8 limit Hold'em, 5-10 no-limit Hold'em, and if they're enough people to play they may start a 5-10 pot-limit Omaha Hi only, but that usually starts later in the night. We haven't made it down to the Radisson yet, but that is the other place that usually has games and most likely same games as HI.

Ultimate Bet stopped sponsoring their poker tournament in Aruba a few years ago. The rumor is that the remodeled Occidental Casino will have a new poker room intended to entice some large poker tour to schedule a large tournament there. I have no idea if the rumor is true.

Does the Casino at the Radisson still have poker since changing casino management companies? I haven't heard.

I have never heard of the Crystal Casino (or Seaview) having poker. I have heard that the Copa Cabana (Hyatt) has a small poker room with just a few tables running higher no limit hold 'em games. I have no idea how successful it's been.

Thanks for all the input - I'll definitely check out the suggestions while I'm there in mid-April.

Last I knew the Radisson and HI were the two poker rooms on the island. The Radisson is my preferred room but I did not play in 2010 so my info dates back to 2009. Again if my memory serves the Radisson holds several formatted tournaments (not professional) per week.

It is the casino that has new owners and not the Occidental itself
