I have the opportunity to go in April and Oct and wondered if the weather is 'friendly' in Oct. Also, I'm single and wondered if there are singles there. Any recommendations on accommodations?

Hello ray, NO matter what time of the year u go its always nice. Thats whats so cool about this place. Why go anywhere else when u know it the sun is shinning allllllll the time. You will love it and go to carlos n charlies you will for sure hook up with people and if not find the reg. locals that hang out there they are very nice and will will help u out. Im leaving soon. cant wait.

Nice having you here soon. Like Susan said... you will NEVER find bad weather here on the island. If you are more of an entertainment person... go to Carlos and Charlie's. If you're a trance music person... go to Crobar. If you're a mixed music person, and love a variety of Caribbean, Latin, R&B, House and many types of other rythms... then go to Bahia.
If you're straight.. those will be the perfect places to hang out. If you'r gay... there are some other places to go to... however all night clubs on the island are gay friendly. If you like I can show you around anytime...! I'm a 26 yrs. gay male!
