We made the trek to Bright as we'd heard a few mentions about it on the forum.
Tip: it's on the north side of the complex that has the Pizza Hut in it... we had to drive around the block a few times to find it as it's not on the main drag (Road 4).
Like most bakeries, you need to take a number and wait so be sure to grab a ticket when you arrive (they're on the wall on the left hand side as you enter).
A good selection of baked goods. Quite a few bright, colourful cakes adorn the opposite wall from the entrance. Shy, but nice, staff. There's a cafe section where you can eat-in.
We picked up a few things: ham and cheese empanadas, cheese balls, an apple turnover, four "corn bagels", two gigantic chocolate cream puffs and a slice of boozy cake the cashier recommended.
The cheese balls weren't what we expected: we thought they would have cheese in the centre and ooze. But they were basically bread balls that tasted like cheddar. Very nice.
The corn bagels weren't really bagels... more like baguettes in the shape of a bagel with a lighter crust.
The apple turnover was okay... nothing to write home about...yet here I am writing about it.
The cream puff was worth the wait. Light, flaky, not-too-sweet whipped cream. Yum:
We'll try the boozy cake and the ham/cheese empanadas today and report back.
Based on the cream puff alone, I'd say it's worth the drive. If you go for the cheese balls, make sure you have something to spread on them or dip them in.
