We'd been to "Carte Blanche" at B&T and absolutely loved it so we decided to try "Elements" and see if it was up to snuff as well.
We went over a little early so we could have drinks first at the beautiful B&T beach bar. Grey Goose martini for The Spouse and a fresh-made margarita for me. Wonderfully made and you cannot beat the setting.
A number of friends mentioned that Elements is famous for being the first restaurant on the island to present their menu on an iPad... we'd only seen this once before at Claridge's in London and that was only the wine list back then. Here's the great thing about choosing on an iPad... you can select things are you see them in the list "Favourites" and then delete them from the total list you've chosen and, when the staff come to take the order, you're all set. I can't tell you how many times one of us has forgotten what we wanted to order and had to look at the menu again. That or the cocktails are doing their job right!
The staff and service at both the bar and restaurant were excellent. I can see why this resort is booked years in advance... the service is a big part of the draw.
We were seated on the beach/deck with a wonderful view of the sea.
They have a salad bar... we were surprised: it was pretty basic so we skipped it and ordered a la carte.
Dinner was wonderful and beautifully served:
I had the french onion soup for a starter... it was okay... pretty standard fare... the Gouda was an interesting twist:
The Spouse went for Chicken Vol Au Vent which was spectacular:
For mains, I had the Spicy Shrip with risotto... it was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful... the shrimp were massive (but only four of them) and it was definitely filling:
The Spouse opted for the Rib Eye - nicely cooked but he accompanying peppercorn sauce was a little overpowering... order it on the side if you go and aren't a big pepper fan:
We finally dug our heels in and skipped dessert... passing on the five-layer dark chocolate cake was extremely difficult though LOL.
We really liked "Elements" but I think we'd be more inclined to go back to the bar and eat there next time... it was a lot of fun!
