Alchohol and Food Question

I have been to Aruba twice. I usually go to St Martin twice a year but decided to give Aruba another chance. Where can you buy beer for reasonable prices? Last time I was their I was paying $45 a case for Miller Lite. As far as eating are there good hamburger/bar food spots for $10 a person? I think I lived off pizza last time since I was with guy friends partying.

Hi and welcome to the forum. My sisters and I typically buy our alcohol at the supermarket, we feel that we get a better price there. Based on my experience you can find decent bar food just about anywhere for a decent price.

Most places list their menu outside of the restaurant to help you make your decision before commiting to a place. A burger anywhere on the island shouldn't cost you too much more than $10. It's the drinks that typically drive up the price. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your time in Aruba.

cases of beer are expensive.
$45 sounds about the going price, maybe a little lower?

there are great burger places......
there is a "fake 5 guys".....i forget the name but it is across from the radisson area. it was originally called 5 guys burgers, but they changed their name so something similar.

other good burger place is B55 down beyond the airport.

hot take away has awesome burgers, (next to amadeus restaurant)

there is WENDYS, MCD'S, Burger King also.......

the Island Grill at LaCabana has great burgers and very good onion rings.

Tony Romas up near the Holiday Inn has good (overpriced) burgers)

And.......most of the resort outdoor restaurants will have burgers as well.

where are you staying?

welcome to the forum

The Paddock downtown has excellent burgers with a view of the port. The Terrace at the Westin also has good burgers and fries. If you want to expand your tastes a little you can get grouper sandwiches at several places. The Pelicans nest has the best ones imho. They are grilled.

We are staying at La Cabana Beach and Racquet Club. We are not planning on eating $10 meals every night but we generally eat lite as we stay on the beach all day and gamble all night. What are the better casinos as far as getting drinks. Thats one way to drink beer is hang at the casino and I like my beer and gambling. Grouper sandwich sounds awesome. Who seems to be the best car rental guy? In St Martin I use one place, guys picks me up at the airport and I leave the car and keys at the airport when I depart. I prefer a compact and actually rather have something not new as I dont have to worry about dents.

As for car rental, I highly recommend (as do many others on the board) Tropic Car Rental. Inexpensive and they meet you at the airport and you can drop off the car at the airport.

I will send an email to Tropic. It is wild that beer is so expensive. St Martin prices are actually the same as the states.

We have used Budget a lot and they have been great! Go to their website and not the budget website. you can get really good deals, especially if you don't pick it up at the airport.
Also, from what we have found for beer....Super Foods seem to beat the other grocery stores. Not that we are buying a lot.... haha! For some reason living here we drink more beer??
