these restaurants are not only competing with each other, but have to compete with yet another all inclusive (Riu)

the person that recently bought amazonia, paid cash.
i wonder what his/her plans are?
Wonder if maybe the new owners will use the building as an "overflow" for its AI. Folks that are staying there can go for whatever they decide to have on menu and the general public may be allowed in at certain hours ??????

I believe the folks who own(ed) Amazonia also own Aqua Grill. Any news on their status?
Not surprised to learn Amazonia closed. We ate there last year and actually felt that the selection of items was less superior then Texas De Brazil.

We had 2 for 1 coupons for Amazonia a few years ago when my Sis and BIL were with us. None of us was impressed with the food. The salad and vegetable bar was very disappointing. I know you are supposed to be there for the meat but sides need to be good as well and the meat was just average at best. DW said as we were leaving that the best thing they had on the sticks was the grilled pineapple. That was a sad but true statement.

Unlike Divi, RIU does not allow people to eat in their restaurants that are not staying at their resort. They are very unfriendly to anyone even walking on their property if they are not a guest.
