This is not your typical commercial restaurant where most of the meals if not all are cooked early during the morning hours and than put into the convectional oven when ordered. We cook to order - EVERYTHING - with exception of our soups! We invite anyone to come into our kitchen when preparing their meal to witness that we stand behind what we promote.
Here you will experience real Southern Italian cuisine cooked to order by Anna-Maria and Chris. If you've ever been to Italy and have experienced a small family owned restaurant, you will know & understand that in order to eat at the level we prepare all of our dishes, it takes a bit longer then heating a meal in the microwave or driving through McDonald's. If you have no patients and don't expect the very best, than we suggest you make a stop elsewhere!
Here we're not interested in turnover, instead we want you to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere - no rush - fresh - cooked to order ambiance with your friends and family.
As for the pastas, we do make some of the pastas, like ravioli's and gnocchi's, all other pastas are brought in directly from Italy.
Veggies as part of your main dishes is not impossible (all one has to do is ask) however there are meals you can & there are other's you just can't add vegetables to - it doesn't make a match! Imagine a spaghetti Bolognese or a linguinni frutti di Mare with vegetables? and so are many others...
As for our marked up wines, one can buy anything anywhere at any price their budget permits. It's a deferent ball game when you're running a business, or else why go out?! You could buy most of the ingredients yourself (or just bring them from home where everything is cheaper, especially in Canada, hey!) cook it yourself and save all in all, again especially if you're on a budget. Our wine bottles are comparable if not cheaper to any other Italian on the island guarantee!
Anna-Maria and Chris are not trying to make a go of anything, we've put our name out there thanks to the freshness of all of our ingredients, the passion we have in what we enjoy doing and the know how, especially to the all so many costumers that were here and had nothing else to say than positive comments ( some even suggested we raise our prices for the quality of the food and the ambiance we offer)!
Last, with all due respect to everyone, you don't have to return if you were unhappy, there are many other good restaurants on the Island and why would I change a winning horse if 99% of our clients are repeat customers and are all 101% satisfied with everything?!
Buon Apetito e buona fortuna to everyone!
Right on Chris....My wife and I will be back again and again.....spreading the word of the great food we had last night......

    Outstanding!

Well we have found "our" restaurant for Italian in Aruba!!
Got lost getting there but called Chris and he helped us find our way. We were greeted warmly by David and he took us through the garden to a lovely patio out back with just a few tables.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and very personal. We sat down to a lovely menu of countless types of pasta and looked to David for some help with what to choose. He guided us in the right direction as our meals were unbelievable.
We had the Calamari (fresh and not covered in batter with an amazing dipping sauce), house salads with a wonderful dressing, and a specailly pre ordered Caesar salad for DS who only eats that as an appetiser.
Our main coures were gnocchi (freshly done to perfection), pasta with a vodka light red cream sauce with mushrooms and shrimp (David's recommendation was right on with this one) spaghetti bolognese (which was to "die for") and chicken parmesan with a pasta side. We couldn't stop raving about our meals. Timing was very good too. The restaurant only had two other tables when we arrived so we really didn't have to wait long for our dinner but we never felt rushed.
The wine list had numerous bottles to choose from and there was no bottle over $40, which is very reasonable when dining at an upper end restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our bottle of Castella del Diablo.
Pastas were around the $20 mark which is far cheaper than the pasta at Gianni's and I would say there is no comparison in food, service, and personal attention. Chris came around and met us, asked us if we enjoyed our meal and told us a little about his restaurant.
We can't wait to go back in March. We have finally found an Italian restaurant in Aruba that is truly good!!!!!

The best way to make a reservation is via email aranopas@hotmail.com

He responds quickly and don't forget to order the world famous and most amazing Sangria!!!!

Here are the directions he sent me.

    Directions from the Surf Club:

Make a right turn while leaving the Surf Club.
Make left at the first traffic lights (Mc Donald's is on your right)
Drive all the way through the main PALM BEACH ROAD (Wacky Wahoo's; Sole Mare; Gas Station)
Make left at the traffic lights (Beach Police station right across the street)
Drive +/- 1.5 to 2.0 km until you see a big sign of FIRESTONE & BRIDGE STONE on your right!
Make first left right after you pass the firestone & bridgestone signs. (this is your last turn)!
NOW - very important!: STAY ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE ROAD - it's curvy, like a snake but make no turns!!
As soon as you come out of the snake (while you remained on the right hand side of the road), you'll see On your right "DEL REY" apartments

KEEP STRAIGHT, we're the 7th house on your right hand side counting down from DEL REY apartments!
(Two stories house with lot's of Venetians Columns, huge green decorative fence, lot's of lights).

Call me while driving in the event you need assistants @ 592.3857 or 586.2833

I think I am going to make a reservation for next week. All of your reviews convinced me. Will the taxi drivers know how to get there or should I take down the directions?
