ARUBA DESTINY!!!!...GO!

Been to Aruba 5 times with my family of 5.
This year we discovered the Aruba Destiny, a relatively new restaurant over by the Old Dutch Windmill on Irausquin Blvd.

This my friends, is what Aruba is all about...fantastic, food, terrific setting (go inside!) and the most genuine, friendliest owners and staff we have ever met. We stayed until midnight chatting with Erna, the owner and our waiter.

DO NOT LEAVE ARUBA WITHOUT TASTING ERNA'S COCONUT GROUPER!!! (WOWSERS!)

Prices were very reasonable...The Paella had lots of shrimp and delicious morsels of fish...came with a glass of sangria...a special at just $15.99.

Like I said, get a table inside! They've really done a nice job on the decor...outside is just, well, outside.

Re: ARUBA DESTINY!!!!...GO!

I totally agree. I went to Aruba Destiny last week and had a great meal for a very reasonable price (Coconut Grouper including an Aruba Ariba drink for $15.95). Spent about 20 minutes talking to Ronaldo (Erna's husband) when he came over to our table. Good food, reasonable prices, but most of all nice people.

Does Aruba Destiny have a website? Did you make reservations once you arrived on the island or before your trip?

Who has ever eaten at Destiny? Their grouper special looks wonderful and sherry says their walnut cake for dessert is excellent.

Hubby and I ate at Aruba Destiny in Sept. 2006. I wasn't that hungry so I only had a salad - to me a salad is a salad. Not too much to say about it. . Hubby did have a fish dish that he enjoyed very much.

Thumbs up

Oh man! Dh, dd and I still marvel over the fantastic, affordable dinner we had at this place. Dh is not a big drinker and fell in love with the Sangria. I love wine, but not a big Sangria lover. Well...they changed my mind about that. Cannot duplicate it though.

I had the steak Aruban, dh had the Paella and dd had the infamous Coconut Grouper, dd had calamari appetizer just about every night no matter where we ate and raved the most about their's (and Marina Pirata). The Caesar salad was excellent as well.

The Cashew cake?...Well that too was fabulous...wish we had had more nights or would have gone back a second night.
