Thanks, Walt! I'm something about the internet but not how to create a website! LOL
I just have the ideas and visions what would be useful and customer-friendly.
I have been working 20 years in sales, marketing and advertisement.

CK, you may want to play around with Google maps. You can create a custom map and save it. I have one for Aruba with locations that interest us and Google links it to the site for most of the restaurants. You can keep it private or share with friends.
Not sure when, but we will be back

Yes I use it all the time. I noticed they added a few new restaurants that were not on the list back in May. Also I like that it takes you directly to trip advisor for reviews and photos.

I think I found a great example how a great restaurant guide could work!
It's not meant as a criticism for the current one, it's just a suggestion how a good product could be improved significantly.

The website is in German but in general, it works as following:

On the left side are "Filters" where the customer can choose:

Category of restaurant (one star, two stars ect)

    Budget/Prices

Cuisine (Bistro, Seafood, High Class, Pizzeria ect)

Specified by Countries (Local, European, Asian etc)

Special location and ambient (located at the water/beach, garden/park, historical background, live music, lounge, located on a boat, great views, great scenery etc)

Special Menus (Bio, Brunch, Halal, Kids menus, koscher, vegan, vegetarian)

Special Features (Ballroom, groups allowed, dogs allowed, Air-condition, kitchen open after 10 p.m., parking, suitable for wheelchairs, rooms for festivities)

Means of payment (AmEx, Diner's Club, Visa, Checks, Cash etc)

In the middle and right part of the page:

Name and photo of the restaurants which show up until choosing the "Filters".

A short and precise description of the kind of the restaurant. Prices (lowest and highest)

Ratings (4 or 5 red points is the highest/best) plus Comments

    Address

Live alert if restaurant is presently open (green dot) or currently closed (red dot)

Phone number (hidden but will show up when clicked on)

Some restaurants have the option to make online reservations.

    Top right corner:

Map showing the location of the restaurants in question (Lageplan)

I personally would prefer is the map with the location would show up on the right side of the webpage, keeping only the middle part to show the info of the restaurants (picture, name, address etc).

    Here is the link:

I use this every time we plan a trip so we can find a new to us restaurant. It is very easy to find where you want to go. If you just use the first part before googlemap, you can research restaurants by type and then find them on the map.
