Beachside/waterside dining

Hi Everyone!

My husband are going to Aruba for our 1 year wedding anniversary and I really want to have a romantic dinner by the water. Can anyone suggest somewhere nice?

Thank you!!

I can't speak frrom experience yet but we're going to try Passions this coming Wednesday. We're hoping to pull the daily double of a beautiful sunset AND a full moon on March 11.

I read several nice reviews so we thought we'd give it a try.

Old Man and the Sea (need rental car) need to make reservations, Tables are located on the beach by the water or you could request the private Gazebo on the water (need to spend $100.00 on wine, champagne or liquor to use gazebo) very nice. Passions by Amsterdan Manner is nice on the beach and taxi would be cheap from hotel area's.

We found Passions to be our best dinner of our trip last June and look forward to returning again for our anniversary this June.

From our review:
"Friday night for our anniversary, a friend as well as my parents, had recommended Passions on the beach at the Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort.

When we arrived we were immediately greeted by Diana the hostess/maître d' and everything from the food to the service, it was nothing less than perfect and a wonderful evening. Our table was closest to the water with torches and a lantern on the table. I can imagine how nice it would be at sunset, however since we can view that from the comfort of our patio, and like to eat later, dining under the stars with the Aruban tradewinds are just delightful in my book!

Dd had Caesar Salad with shrimp and a seafood sampler platter with Caribbean lobster tail, shrimp, grouper and mahi-mahi. I had a filet mignon and dh had grilled grouper and shrimp with a creamy spicy sauce. For an appetizer he had goat cheese with prosciutto, arugula and honey dressing, I had a crab salad. Everything was delicious! If anyone has that recipe for the crab salad you just pass it on to me please!

Dessert was amazing ...a sampler with full size portions of cheese cake, tiramisu, raspberry mousse, key lime pie and chocolate cake. Even dd had a double decaf Espresso. We practically rolled back to the Tamarijn."

Passions and The Old Man & The Sea are our two favorites for romantic, toes in the sand, beach dining.

The Old Man & The Sea is located in Savaneta so you would need a rental car (or it will be an expensive taxi ride.) Passions is located at Amsterdam Manor (Eagle Beach) so it's easy to get to by taxi from the hotel area.

I am in agreement with Amy's picks...
Old Man and The Sea and Passions... I think Passions has better food but the atmosphere at Old Man is slightly better.
Hard to pick between the two but we love them both!
Try to reserve the gazebo at Old Man,,, very romantic and private!

not to be stickler here but, you may want to read the reviews on flying fishbone as it has been getting a lot of negative feedbacks lately.
