We like Sole Mare.

Hubby thinks the veal parm is wonderful. I always get different things and have not been disappointed. But the desserts are not worth it at all.

But none of the Italian places ever seem to make the top ten list. http://www.restaurantsaruba.com/topten.html

No, they do not have a website yet. Sole Mare, Azzurro's, Daniels Steak & Chop Restaurant & Gianni's all have the same owner. If you want to make reservations for Gianni's you can use the e-mail sole-mare@hotmail.com

Gianni's

Just returned from Aruba and went to Gianni's. Horrible is being nice - the food was awful, the service was terrible and the flys were disgusting. The air conditioning was on but they left the doors opened and we were swarmed with flys, on us and our food. They did not know or could not make a chocolate martini. The food, well, we left and went overf to Hostarios's for another fabulous meal. The manager asked what we thought and all is comment was, "oh well". I would be very leary of food served over and over out of the same parmesan ring without being sufficently cleaned but thats just me. Good luck, maybe you will hit a better night than we did.

Sole Mare has been our favorite for Italian. Even though Azzurro has a similar menu, for some reason I don't like it as much. We did enjoy Gianni's, however. the food was excellent and that staff was attentive.

Alfredo's is another good choice. Not fancy, never crowded, but you get a good meal.

I ate at Gianni's last night and I thought that the pasta was quite good. We had 9 people and we ate outside on the patio. I did not notice any flys or bugs and it was a very pleasant evening. Although it did take a long time to get our food once we ordered, it was very crowded and I think the backup was in the kitchen. Our waiter was very good and could explain every item on the menu. Except for a few items which were very high priced ($48 for one special shrimp dish), most items were reasonable (around $18 for a pasta dish and $22.50 for chicken parm). I would definately return.

Giannis is less expensive than Hosterio or El Faro (Lighthouse) Excellent White clams in linguine @ Giannis (inside is a bit loud with those high ceiliing, but bearable). Hosterio is always good but pricier, Great Seafood Rissoto ($50).
Osso Buco @ El Faro is to die for.
