while we were there in May we wandered into the restaurant poolside at Renaissance Ocean Suites, and they had a wonderful breakfast/brunch buffet.
loved their omelet station and their choices of meat and shrimp were good.
    the mimosas were included.
i think the price was around $18 or $20 pp
i cannot remember what day of the week this was, nor do i know if it is offered daily.
Andrea the breakfast buffet at Captains Corner at the Ocean Suites is from 7-11:30 am. daily. Cost $17.95 plus 15%. They do not have a Sunday brunch.

I never had the Sunday brunch at La Vista (only the weekday buffet) so I can't compare it to the Hyatt brunch. The Hyatt brunch was excellent. The Hyatt brunch is $53 and La Vista $36.95. I will check out the Sunday Brunch at La Vista in November.

I'm not a fan of Aquarius at the Renaissance. Not saying the food wasn't good but there are more food choices at La Vista. Aquarius is not a large restaurant. The tables are very close to each other. The ambiance is much nicer at La Vista. Comparing La Vista and Ruinas del Mar I would say the ambiance is nicer at the Hyatt.

Matthew's is another favorite of mine for breakfast. Very reasonable priced. My other breakfast favorites that are not expensive are Delifrance, Salt & Pepper, and Ricardo's. Water's Edge at Costa Linda has a daily breakfast special. I think it was $5.00.
