Bring earplugs if you go to Matthews at CDM

All

Matthews has decided that they are going to blast customers with "booming bass" from their bar speakers. Unless you like that type of noise, it's probably best to stay away.

Place was fine last year, but Stefan has definitely developed an attitutude since then.

i bet if one asked stefan about this and told him how annoying the booming bass was he'd remediate the problem.
he is a very congenial fellow and you know..........the customer is always right

Booming bass at Matthews

Thanks for the reponses. It truly was bad. Management at Casa del Mar is aware of the problem and has followed up. The "culprit" may not be Stefan, but his manager. Last night was wonderful - back to how it's been for the last 5 yrs.

We own timeshare at Casa del Mar where Mathews is located. We have had dinner there many times and never found the restaurant to be noisy. Stefan and Recardo are great and very accomodating too.

We returned a few weeks ago. I will say a few days the speakers were a bit loud so we sat by the pool instead of the bar since over 20 people were enjoying the music. So I can see it both ways... at times it was too loud to have a conversation over and seemed a bit much, but the some really enjoyed it that loud... and Wed night had around 200 people there.

We recently enjoyed our dinner at Matthews. There was no loud music, only could hear it in the background. Everyone was very friendly and we enjoyed our meal.
