we have always had a good meal at buccaneer

occasionally we have had mediocre service

but the food taste, presentation and pricing always wins out over the mediocre service

I went in July with my family. I did not have a good experience with the establishment. I did contact the owner who apologized and said that her main chef was on vacation as was most of her normal wait staff since it was low season.
Decided to take down my timer!

I also went in July of this year, and it was one of the better meals that I had during the entire trip. In fact, in nearly 20 years of going to the Buccaneer, I have never had a bad meal there. I always order the catch of the day (usually baracuda) and it is consistenty good. Also, in comparison to may other restaurants on the island, it is quite reasonably priced.

Just curious.. what week did you go.

Barracuda was not the catch when I went. The fish is actually escaping my mind right now. The white fish that we did have was Great. The problem was with all the shell fish. Every piece was overcooked..

Last time I was there that happened to me as well. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail I ordered was WAY overcooked (my hubby makes better shrimp cocktail.) But the barracuda I had as my entree at least made up for the shrimp. I'll go back again for barracuda but I won't waste my money on the shrimp.

I was in Aruba the last week in June and the 1st week in July. You are correct, for the first time in a number of years there was no baracuda on the menu. The catch of the day was Grouper, and it was also excellent.
