buccaneer restaurant

i spoke at length last night with the owner of the buccaneer.
(one of my all time top 3 restaurants on aruba)

aside from their wonderful seafood dishes, they have NEW items on their menu including lamb chops.

remember BUCCANEER is a wonderful restaurant for all and especially families (good menu for kids and the fish tanks are amazing)

i cannot wait to go back in august........me poached grouper per usual and dear hubby= lamb chops!

We tried the Buccaneer for the first time last September. We had reservations for MJ, but the roads to get there were flooded from all the rain so we ended up at Buccaneer. Hubby is a bit of a picky eater and he didn't care much for the menu or his meal. I remember being ok with my meal - I think I had salmon.

Maybe I'll try it again this fall (hubby can't make the trip this year).

Hi,

We went to Buccanneer our 1st trip,( arubamark-suggested) sat in the wrong room,(fish tank ...room with bigger tanks and turtles looked so cool ) so we were hoping to meet Angela,( she wasn't in that night ) but we were happy to meet her husband instead. We enjoyed our meal. The 2nd time ,we just never made it back, just to many places to go to eat. Perhaps in December we will.

Hi again,

4got.. Arubamark had told me to try the Barracuda..apparently if you like it, they make very very good. I lean more towards plain, no fishy taste, white fish. I never did give it a try.. was afraid

Stick with Grouper

I just sat down to write some notes about where we ate on our trip.

i asked paul again if he liked his barracuda.
he just said yes it was mild.
he expected it to be strong tasting like salmon or tuna or swordfish.
he will not eat any of those as he really hates the strong taste.
typically the only fish he likes while in aruba is grouper or mahi.

I love Barracuda - and yes, it is mild tasting just like white fish. I'm also a big fan of Wahoo (my favorite fish in the whole wide world!) and Mahi Mahi. Grouper, for me, is just okay - doesn't have enough flavor and it's not "meaty" enough for me so I normally don't order Grouper.
