    Caribbean Lobster

What is the best place for Caribbean Lobster? Checked out Papiamento and Barefoot menus online, plan on visiting those. ANy other suggestions?
I am from MA, and very eager to compare Cape Lobster and their Caribbean cousins.

we have had caribbean lobster at
    Madame Janette
    LaVista
    Aquarius
    Driftwood
    Buccaneer

none of the caribbean lobster that I have tasted come close to the deliciousness of New England or Canadian Maritime lobster.

that being said, Caribbean lobster is still good!

I've had the Caribbean lobster at Madame Jannetes as part of their surf and turf and enjoyed ii. MJ is one of my favorite restaurants. Also, had it again at Gianni's along with shrimp in a fettuccini Alfredo, again very good. Keep in mind that it is different and not as sweet as our Maine lobster.

I had it grilled at Pinchos. I was disappointed. Not because of Pinchos but because of the lobster. Given the huge price for these lobsters, it's not worth it to me because I mentally compare it to Maine lobster.

Imo, being from MA, if you LOVE cold water lobster, you will be disappointed in Caribbean lobster. Sort of like comparing apples and oranges.

    Perhaps check out http://www.arubabluelobster.com/main-dishes-lobster/

Ah, interesting responses. I did pig out on the 3 for $35 steamed lobsters in Rockport, MA few weeks back. Maybe I will pass if I am tight with my money.

I didnt notice a big difference in the two. Maybe it is different if you are where you can get fresh coldwater lobster, but here all our lobster comes in frozen. I know the fresh caribbean lobster at Matthews and Pelicans nest have good flavor.

Just my opinion of course, if you have it as part of a surf and turf then you get the opportunity to try it without spending a fortune. We went to Matthews and the grilled lobster tail (10 oz) was $45 and I wouldn't part with my money. At home Maine lobsters were $8 a pound and I just couldn't justify it, but I wouldn't hesitate to order the surf and turf at Madame Jannetes.

I had the Caribbean lobster special in Wacky Wahoo, it was real good but........ but was in St. Kitt's in April and ordered Caribbean Lobster 4 times in a week which I never do and was totally delicious!! It was also bigger and cheaper in St. Kitts. Very different than Aruba Caribbean lobster, much more sweeter and tender just totally wonderful. And for me ordering it 4 times is a biggie, never have done that before my hubby was in shock!! Haven't had anywhere else in Aruba, but will try next year.
