Chalet Suisse

Anyone been there? The menu looks really good. I heard it's in the low rise hotel area, can anyone tell me exactly where it is? We are staying at the Amsterdam. Thanks,

Ryan

Re: Chalet Suisse

right passed the La Cabana and across from Eagle Beach. It is definitely good but not in my top 5 probably number 6 on my list. Its like any restaurant in the US. nothing special with the scenary, food is good, and tables are very comfortable to sit at.

Re: Chalet Suisse

I stayed at the Amsterdam a while ago can't say that I liked it. As for the Chalet Suisse the menu looks good but the food is horrible, If you had any brains you would try El Gaucho's.

Re: Chalet Suisse

If you had half a brain stay away from El Gaucho's and go to the French Steakhouse. As for Chalet Suisse. They have VERY good food there. We go there everytime we go to Aruba

Re: Chalet Suisse

Why must people be crude? Someone asked a simple question. Be polite! Chalet Suisse is a short walk down the beach from Amsterdam Manor - a lovely restaurant with very good food. We enjoy eating there whenever we go to Aruba. Both El Gaucho downtown and French Steakhouse at the Manchebo Hotel also offer very good steak meals. Enjoy your vacation and enjoy dining out.....Cheryl

Re: Chalet Suisse

Thanks for all responses. So I guess the food is somewhere between horrible and excellent...LOL. Since it's so close to the Amsterdam I think I'll give it a shot. Already will be taking a taxi most nights to places like Marandi's and Madame Jeanette's. As for El Gaucho's, all of the heated debates and politics in discussing that restaurant on this board really takes away from the overall helpfullness of it.

Re: Chalet Suisse

Ryan, You are best off trying it. For what it's worth, I was in Aruba many years ago, and ate at the Buccaneer, and positively loved it. I hear some good things about it
on this board, but yesterday about 4 or 5
bad reviews. I could be wrong but I can't imagine that it became that much worse over the years, or it would be out of business. I think each restaurant, like anything else, is a matter of preference and what you are looking for, and even what frame of mind you are in at that time your eating there, if you know what I mean. Just a thought. Try it - you may love it!! Have a great time.
