    Chalet Suisse -- appropriate dress?

The menu at Chalet Suisse interests me but it looks more formal. Could we get away with wearing shorts here? It's just too hot to dress up in Aruba. I know most are okay with casual but this place looks like it could be the exception. Your thoughts?

Chalet Suisse is definitely a little nicer than most. It is completely indoors and classier than many restaurant. That being said - if you show up in nice shorts and a polo they aren't going to turn you away. I have seen people there pull it off. I myself - would feel a bit under-dressed in shorts.. but that could just be me.

I always bring a pair of lightweight khaki type pants and one pair of nice jeans for dinners in Aruba. I just enjoy cleaning up after a day on the beach and getting "ready" for dinner.

Whatever you decide -- Chalet Suisse is one of my top 3 fave restaurants on the Island and I dont think you will be disappointed.

Thanks all. I'm thinking if we dine early we could probably get away with dress shorts. DH will never wear long pants in Aruba. One evening we went to Windows and I felt under dressed until a few more parties came in wearing cutoffs and flops!

We eat there every year at least once. Always wear golf shorts and shirt. Bennie will greet you at the door and say welcome home. Excellent food and service. We drop in late some nights just for the toblerone fondue desert and coffee.

My hubby always wears shorts to Chalet Suisse. I usually wear capris. We never feel out of place there. Enjoy! It is one of our favorite restaurants. We skipped it this year because we wanted to try some new places, and were sorry we did. We will definitely eat there on our next trip.
