Every meal I've had at Chez Matilde was very good. Service impeccable. Setting very interesting.

That's what I am hoping.

For years I refused to go because of a dress code....if dress code is gone, we may try it.

paul too
we were there once in the mid- late 90's and a jacket and tie were required for men.
we left.
have not returned since.
it is an incredibly pretty spot and i hear the food is fabulous.

i do know the dress code has been relaxed but unsure of the details.

Jacket and tie in Aruba? Yeah, sure! Did women have to wear dresses and heels?

Tee shirt, shorts, sandals....that's MY dress code.

Anyone know the current code at Chez M?

At that time, yes I did wear dresses and heels. We actually enjoy dressing up for dinner so the 'dress code' of the mid '90's didn't bother us at all. I still dress up to this day and, depending on which restaurant we're going to, hubby still wears long pants (but with more of an island-y feel - very lightweight.)

Last time we ate at Chez Matilde, which was a couple of years ago, the food and service was the BEST on the island. At that time, men were required to wear long pants in the dining room (shorts in the bar area were okay.) I know thay have since relaxed their dress code when they changed names to Matilde (more casual) but....now they have changed back to Chez Matilde again. I just sent them an email to check...I'll let you know when I hear from them.

Thanks.

I never take long pants to Aruba...so the code would make or break it.

Can't see why men can't wear shorts if it's an option for women.

LOL Rob, for the most part, women's legs are much more attractive than men's chicken legs.
