COOKS restaurant downtown :-)

COOKS

Night 3 Dinner @ COOKS

It was fabulous.
First time that we saw the fully renovated 1st floor dining room and lounge and bar. There were no details overlooked or expense spared. A very pretty dining room and the kitchen and plating area is awesome. It works like a very well oiled machine!
There were 6 of us.
5 of us had caesar salads.
1 had the french onion soup.

1 cowboy steak HUGE and juicy. 24 oz.
1 filet mignon
1 poached grouper, stuffed with salmon
2 racks of lamb with goat cheese kind of topping (OMGOSH)
1 rack of lamb with rosemary and mint.
-all had the same nice vegetables of broccoli or aspargus.
-mashed potatoes.
Wine was a bottle of Krupp Bros (Napa Valley) red and i do not know the name of the wine but it was very good and not too dry.

1 word. Fabulous.
Cooks is downtown about one block beyond Elgaucho and is on the left at the traffic light.
About a 5 minute walk from the Renaissance.

We'll go again b4 our stay is over and paul and i decided that this time we want to share the cowboy steak. way way way too much steak for 1 person's meal. Sherry and Murray will have PLENTY for lunch !!

Andrea what the cost for Cooks? I assume we could get here easy enough taking a bus from the Divi to Oranjestad?

Thanks
Chad

Thanks for posting, it sounds fabulous! It’s on my list this year and now I’m even more excited about trying it. I checked out the website and the restaurant looks so pretty.

I wish all restaurants offered the pick-up service, we wouldn’t have to rent a car!

yay to cooks!

i have to say that the only problem with going to cooks as our first upscale meal this year was that no other place will ever match up to it even the best of the rest. fabulous is the word. the caesar salad was heavenly but the nothing can compare with that cowboy steak. andrea is right. sherry and murray had plenty for lunch the next day. the flavor was wonderful, the meat was tender and cooked to perfection, and murray's filet was a perfectly done and completely tender cut of tenderloin.

sadly, there was no room for dessert because i want to try some of the innovative items on the menu. so next weekend when we return, i will have a smaller meal.

cooks is truly our favorite restaurant on the island.
