    Difference El Gaucho and Tango

    Hello,

Last year we tried El Gaucho as our friends wanted to go back there, but it did not appeal to the three of us (my other half and myself and father in law). We do think for the huge size portions and all the food they give you is why people rave about it but the quality was nothing special and the steak especially.

We were told to try Tango and our question to those who have dined at Tango, what are your thoughts about it and those who have been to both places can you give us pros and cons of what you thought about both restaurants?

    Thank you.

We've been to each 3-4 times. I like Tango with the outside patio, the attention to the food, the lack of 'tourist trap' atmosphere (IMHO) and the lack of wandering minstrels. Tango is more relaxed atmosphere.

We are big Tango fans, haven't had a bad meal there and the service is usually good, with one exception I can think of. Tango is the only restaurant we consistently return to every trip. It's quality steak, good flavor, good sides, and convenient walking distance from the Palm Beach hotels. I like the potatoes and the peppercorn sauce they serve with the steak.

Last year it seemed like everyone we talked to was raving about El Gaucho, so we decided to try it. My husband was excited to try the huge steak, even though he only ate about half. I think it was a one and done stop for us. It was good, but nothing special enough to make the trip downtown. It felt like something that could easily be a chain restaurant here at home.

I don't think you'll be sorry with Tango. My wife and I celebrated my birthday there back in March and we both loved it!
