Dinner Suggestions

Well now that I know where we are staying ( Aruba Raddison Resort Spa and Casino )
I am looking into all the awesome places to eat.... and I keep reading about the great Candle lit dinners at Passions on the Beach.
Anyone know how far away of a cab ride this would be price wise ?
Is it hard to get cabs in Aruba ?

Also any other suggestions ? Close to the Raddison ?
So far I have Casa Tua, Salt and Pepper, Moby Dicks, Pappilion, and Gianni's
Is there anything else that I am missing and should try ?
Thanks !

Taxi will be $8 each way. That is per ride, NOT per person. There is an additional charge of $3 each way on Sundays or holidays.

No, not at all. There will be taxis waiting outside the lobby at the Radisson.
When departing Passions ask the waiter to call a taxi for you when the bill is presented.

Regardless of where you take a taxi, know the fare before you go, even if you have to print and take with you, so that you are not overcharged.
Taxi Cab Rates

All drivers are required by law to carry a fare rate sheet.

Try Rembrandts, it across the street for the Radisson, good food, good prices and free wi-fi.

A trip is not complete unless you go to Madame Jeannettes.

I also agree about Madame Jeanette's. It's a short taxi ride (about $8) but well worth it. We also stay at the Raddison. The taxis are waiting for you right outside the lobby and the restaurant will get it for you on the return trip.

First three choices this year, by vote of four of us:

1. ***Papiamento -- for overall atmosphere, service, quality of food! (went twice!)
2. Chalet Suisse (our 1st time, a pleasant surprise!) -- excellent food,
wonderful waitstaff! (went twice!)
3. Mirandi's (clean, awesome atmosphere, good food and service)
and The Flying Fishbone (every bit as good as 3 yrs ago -- awesome
location, great food) Both are not as windy as Pincho's and Passions.

Also went to (in no particular order of preference):
Pincho's - fun location, very windy, good food, waiter not very attentive
Passions -- also fun location and very windy, good food, great waitstaff
Texas de Brazil -- ($45 each plus drinks), great waitstaff, meats
tasty and so tender! Easy to eat too much!
Fishes and More -- easy to get to at High Rise, great food
Wacky Wahoo's -- small and noisy, the Wahoo was excellent!
Sunset Grille -- typical higher end Hotel restaurant (but we ate inside)
Smokey Joe's -- yes, they have the best ribs!!

Smokey Joes is great. It is across the street too. Fun and lively, casual and inexpensive.

Pinchos is also a great place to go for sunset. Just past downtown and before the round about to the airport. Also, very reasonably priced.

These two places we just tried on our last visit and really loved them. Having been to Aruba so many times, can't believe we never went there before.

Madame Janette's is a must! Even though we were let down on the ice cream this year compared to our last visit.
On the less spendier side - I'd definitely go to Rembrandt's. Great food and service and you can't beat the prices (DH and I ate for $27 total - less than the cost of one meal other places). It's in the same section as Hard Rock Cafe.

Texas de Brazil or Ruths Chris

A trip to Aruba isnt complete without Texas de Brazil or Ruths Chris. Texas is within walking distance to the Radison and Ruths Chris is at the Marriott. If you happen to be in town we also love the seafood at The Driftwood. There are so many great places you almost cant go wrong. Have a great time.
