Dinners week of May 7th-May 14

Day 1, Pizza Bobs. Excellant thin crust pizza. 3 split a large pizza and 1 had a salad with chicken. This was a first for us, but it certainly will not be the last. It's nice to do an easy fast meal the day of travel. $

Day 2, & Day 6- Madame Janettes- This is usually our best meal but the last two trips to Aruba we have not been as happy with our meals. Day 2 meals were (3) Almond Grouper (1) Ramon Steak. The steak was amazing, cut with a butter knife, very very good. The grouper was ok, not as good as the first few trips to Aruba and I dont know if they changed something but it is not as good as it used to be. Day 6, (1) Ramon Seak (1) Thai Shrimp (2) Shrimp casserole. The steak was good, not real flavorful though, Thai Shrimp was overcooked (we should have sent it back to the kitchen but we were in a hurry), the casseroles were good, however just not something we would order again. $$$

Day 3 El-Gaucho- I love this place, the best meal to me all week. Im a steak person and always order the El-Gaucho steak. Done to perfection, so much flavor, yum yum. Had a german choc cake for dessert, it was the moist and very very good. Highly recommend $$$

Day 4 Smokey Joes, 6-trips and we have always eatten here. Unfortunately the ribs were not that great this time and we may take it off our annual places to go. It was ok, just not great. $$

Day 5- Barefoot- We have tried Flying Fishbones three times and Old Man and the Sea once. Barefoot's food blows the other two away, it was so good. It will be a regular on our trips for sure. (2) Mango/cream grouper, which was my favorite dish the whole trip. (1) red snapper- good, fresh, flavorful. (1) salad-excellant. $$$

Day 7- Chefs Table. New to us, excellant, beautifully decorated, great atmosphere. Food was excellant as well, we will return here also. Thought it was a little funny that we asked for reservations at 7 but were told it would need to be 730, they didnt have anything available at 7, and when we got there the place was empty, we were a little worried that we were literally the only people in the restaurant for about 15-20 mins. But it was very very good so no worries. (1) Chicken dish, (1) Grouper in cheese crust (1) Fish and Chips (1) Surf & Turf. $$$ EXCELLANT!

We also ate at Iguana Joes-lunch Fajitas, burgers. Good food, Great drinks $$
We had drinks and desserts at Champions while watching the Red Wings Play Off games.
Other trip report will be posted shortly.

thanks for posting your reviews.
sorry that you were in a hurry........MJs would have catered to your needs about the overcooked shrimp dish.

Im sure MJ would have made it right, it wasnt unedible, it was actually good but just a bit overdone. We normally love MJ and will return for sure.

Kal...Great reviews for you week of dining. Thank you. We too thought Barefoot was awesome, and of course we love the Chef's Table. Your not a big fan of grouper or anything, are you?

We are definitely going back to Chef's Table this year, have a reservation at Anna Maria's and will be trying Barefoot too. Has anyone been to Papiamento's recently? We haven't gone for a while and I have it on my list.
