Dress Codes for Restaurants

Can anyone tell me of these restaurants, which one my husband will need slacks/long pants at?
MJ's
Flying Fishbone
Texas de Brazil
Ive seen in pic's on their website at MJ's men in casual shorts/hawiian shirts, is that typical? The less I have to pack the better! Thanks!!!! And if anyone happens to know...do they have laundry mats around the island? Thanks again! Leaving Sat. for our honeymoon. Cant wait!

Long pants are not required for any of the above restaurants. I know that Le Dome requires them for dining indoors as well as the ala carte restaurants at the Riu and possibly Chez Mathilde. Otherwise, a nice pair of shorts and a shirt with a collar are accepted everywhere.

There are laundromats, where are you staying?

Congratulations on your honeymoon.

Thanks for the quick reply! I dont think he owns a "nice" pair of shorts, all he has are those cargo shorts. Good excuse to do some last minute shopping.
We are staying at the Reniassance and the Riu, each for a few days. (We wanted the best of both worlds AI and non AI, downtown/palm beach). Hope we made good choices. Thanks for your help!

I am sure you will be fine with your choices. Have him bring one pair of longs pants though for the Riu. From everything I have read, it seems they are enforcing the long pants for men at their ala carte restaurants. It would be a shame to lose out on that experience and have to eat at the buffet for dinner.

BTW, if you don't have the time to shop for shorts, he could probably get by with the cargo pants. What does anyone else think?

I think Cargo shorts and cargo pants would be fine - as long as they aren't the real wrinkled look with holes and falling apart!

My husband has very nice shorts, considered cargo because of where the pockets are placed. If a collared shirt is worn with them, he looks fine and dressed enough for dinner.

Have a great time!

Thanks you guys! His cargo shorts are mostly new, and like you said, only considered cargo because of the pockets. He golfs in them all the time...I think they will work.
We werent planning on doing the specialty restaurants at the Riu, (didnt want to wait in line to be honest) but we will bring a pair of slacks just in case. Better safe than sorry. Im sure we will want to try at least one of them.

I wear cargo style shorts all over aruba without a problem. I usually wear a pullover golf style shirt or hawaiian shirt with them and it seems to be fine. I think sometimes it has less to do with what you wear, but how you act. I'm sure nice slacks worn hanging down barely on your rear with your cool boxer shorts showing 6" above them would be more of an issue than some polite man in cargo shorts worn correctly.

I stopped wearing long pants to Aruba restaurants several years ago. It is much too hot, even at 9PM. Dress shorts with a collared shirt is acceptable at most restaurants.
Help me understand why you would want to do laundry on your honeymoon.

Mickey, good question! We will be there for 10 days, and I didnt really want to pack too heavy. Actually, I dont think I will need to do any laundry, Ive just finished packing, and I have plenty of room for all the clothes I want to bring. And purses...and shoes....
Thanks everyone for all your help, here and on other issues. I'm headed to the airport in 4.5 hrs...Aruba here we come!!!
