El Gaucho dress code

Hello:

Is there a dress code at El Gaucho? I heard men could not wear shorts, is that true? Please advise as we leave on Saturday.

I had to smile at the subject of the post. I was thinking "well, you can't wear a bathing suit, probably."

Shorts are fine.

Only at Le Dome (inside), Chez Mathilde and (Dang, what's the other one, folks?) do gents have to wear long pants. Even then long pants and shirts with collars are all that is requested. No jackets nor ties.

Have a great time!

Chalet Suisse

Chalet Suisse in front of Eagle Beach might be the other restaurant that requires men to wear long pants.

Yes, I can verify that also. Dh is another one who stopped wearing long pants to places like the Sunset Grille and Chalet Suisse a few years back. Seems like just about 3 years ago that shorts became "okay" for men just about everywhere. cpjones, we have the same great taste in restaurants.

The only dress code they have is bring you wallet!!! Sit right in the restaurant & wait for your table or they'll leave you waiting for that buzzer to go off while you get fleeced @ the bar across the street.

even though the service at el gaucho has declined in recent years the food i feel is still good and the price is on par with other restaurants..as for garufa across the street it is no more expensive than any bar in any of the nicer hotels..if you can't afford to spend a little money you really shouldn't be on vacation in aruba..

Does Garufa require long pants? I thought last year they had it posted, but they let in a couple of us non-conformists in wearing shorts.
