El Gaucho & Driftwood Reservations

I know def yes to make reservation at El Gaucho (busy place)...but Driftwood??? Do you think it's necessary to make a reservation or we can wing it and just show up and maybe have to wait for a table for a few min's if really busy??? Any input. I really would like to not have to make reservations being on vaca and all...you know...nowhere to be at any specific time is what it's all about!

Thanks!

I think most restaurants except El Gaucho and Madame Janettes that you won't have a problem getting in the same night. But I would have guest services where you are staying give them a call before you leave. Remember Driftwood is closed Tuesdays.

Thanks Liz! El Gaucho is no longer closed Sundays, from what I read. Open 7 days/week now! What are your thoughts on The Old Man & The Sea? Are they sorta like Flying Fishbone? Have you been?

I've only been to Old Man and the Sea. Never Flying Fishbone. FF is my son-in-laws favorite restaurant. I really enjoyed OMATS.

Depends on when you want to eat. Some friends went to El Gaucho last night about 6 pm - almost empty.

Been to both, enjoyed both...big difference is seating...FF is on top of each other, Omats spread far apart. We especially loved our meal at omats, but would recommend FF anyday..

Not that I blame them, but OMATS has added quite a few mor tables than they had last September when we were there. I'd reccomend dining on their private island though, my wife was extremely appreciative of that.
Their food has improved also in my opinion, it's gone from great to fantastic!!

>>> "we can wing it and just show up"
----- If you show up at 6PM have always got a table. If later have always called first and usually got a table. However, when are you going?
If its a holiday call days ahead.
