We went to El Gaucho last night. I ordered 16oz rib eye, Linda ordered catch of the day which was grouper and GS ordered lobster. GS had not eaten lobster before but loves crab. My steak was a little overcooked but still had great flavor. Linda had asked them to cook the grouper in the same sauce the y cooked the sea bass in. She got sea bass instead of grouper and didnt like it. She asked me to try it and it was way overcooked. She thought it tasted different from the grouper we normally get. I told her that was because it wasnt grouper, it was sea bass. GS got his lobster and said he didnt like it. I asked for a bite and he cut a piece off and gave it to me. I started to put it in my mouth and almost gagged. It smelled like amonia. We sent it back and got another one and it was worse smelling than the first one. Do the cooks there not have a sense of smell? Had a problem or two there in the past so they are off our list.
