Elements Private Romantic Dinner - Experiences?

Planning a 'surprise' trip to celebrate my girlfriend's upcoming birthday in October. We're both 'foodies' and appreciate 'making memories' (regardless of cost) but also eat compassionately (aka vegan). I'm trying to find a romantic spot...most likely on the beach...for dinner on her actual day of birth and am gravitating to Elements. They have vegan options and a prime spot of real estate without yard-youngins potentially ruining the mood.

I'm thinking about booking the Private Romantic Dinner which basically runs about $100 per person but provides several courses and one of (it looks like) four or five huts right by the ocean. The other option is to be seated outside on their deck (behind the huts) and order from the menu. That would probably be about a $100 cheaper but obviously not as great of an experience.

So...from those who've been there...either dining on the outside deck or choosing the Private Romantic package...I'd love some guidance. <3

We've only eaten on the deck and it was great... I always wonder what the service would be like by the sea given that most of the staff are up near the restaurant. But the privacy would be great under the palapa. Either way, the food is fantastic and (on the deck) service is top notch. They even have the dome covers for presentation of the food which we thought was pretty funny given that it's Aruba where even flip flops are accepted at most restaurants.

My opinion, Elements is the best overall romantic beach dinner experience. They have service figured out. We only ate on the deck, but I watched the private cabana service with envy, and will definitely book it in the future. For a special surprise, I think it would be worth it. Although, the deck was very nice. We sat on the rail and had a great view of the beach and sunset. When we were there, there were only 2 other couples on the deck and it felt private. I don't know if that is always the case though, would think in busier seasons would be more full.

Either way you go.... you'll love Elements. If I were young (like you) again, I'd absolutely do the private dinner to show my girl how great I plan things.. It has the best view and service seems to be very attentive. I don't think you could find a better choice of places to take her.

If you haven't seen these already, you'll find some great pictures of the private dining experience....

We dined on the deck in May and enjoyed the food and service very much. There were only a few other tables occupied while we were there so it was quiet and somewhat romantic ( though we were not celebrating anything). We have booked the private dinner for our 30th anniversary in September because it seemed amazing from what we witnessed. My advice would be to go for it! Although the deck is lovely, if you choose that option your gf may be watching the private dining activities with envy and you would be kicking yourself, which would take away from the mood.

Elements is great - so absolutely the best choice (but also the most expensive). An alternative to consider is Passions on the Beach. That restaurant sets up their tables on the beach at night. The couples tables (tables for 2) are in the very first row so you have direct view of the water with no obstructions. Passions also serves their dinners with the domes on the plates - which is always a nice touch (just like at Elements). On Sunday and Thursday nights they have a violinist who stops by each couple table to play them an individual song. If you tip the violinist, he'll play several songs - VERY ROMANTIC!

Great option, SkiChris. I've already booked the Romantic Dinner at Elements for my girlfriend's birthday but am looking for another 'first night we arrive' magical experience and Passions might just be the perfect choice. The challenge is that we are both vegan. Elements has a vegan menu. Looking at Passions online menu they have many vegetarian options but just not sure that they can make them vegan...and still be worthwhile/palatable. I'm going to email them and see what they can come up with as the place looks fantastic.

Quick reminder for anyone dining at Elements, they do not accept cash so be prepared to pay for your meal with credit.
