Another place that I just remembered was called Flour di Pina. About 30 years ago we would get takeout ribs and steak from this restaurant on the first day we arrived in Aruba. We normally did not eat in the restaurant because it was indoors and was not air conditioned. However, the food was very inexpensive and very good. I doubt that anyone else would remember this place becaue it was mostly frequented by locals.

hi,
Flor de pino was local and closed down about 25 years ago because it burnt. it was a Portuguese restaurant right across AVON ( behind wendys boulevard)
They were mostly famous for the espetada madeirense and lots of locals still remember this place and compars me to them in some way.

I guess, it would be Boonoonoonoonoos. So far out of all the restaurants that we've eaten at on a regular basis, that's the only one that has closed.

We miss the SeaWatch at the Aruba Grand. The food was good & plentiful. The staff was very nice. It was one of the few restaurants that served free refills on iced tea. Their grouper was excellent, as was the rice they served with it.

I had forgotten about the Seawatch. It was a winner. The last time we were there, Bishop Desmond Tutu was dining there. The staff were so proud they were bursting at the seams.

Without a doubt, our favorite restaurant that is now closed is Valentino's. We live in New York, the home of Italian Restaurants, and Valentino's ranked at the top of our list.
