hahahaha absolutely right ltdpt…………that is why lapetit cafe' has been off our list for a long time.
if i cannot cook well using a stove/oven, there is no way cooking on a hot stone will be better.
have been there 2x many years ago and by my own fault, terribly disappointed
the place is unique and well loved by many.

When we were on Kauai a few years ago, Lindas uncle took us to a restaurant that had a huge open pit, kinda like the one at King Ribs(or the one they had a few years back). You picked out your meat from a case and grilled it yourself. They had a sides bar for everything else. It was kinda cool, but I grill all the time anyway.

I'm not a fan of "Do It Yourself" restaurants. I "DIY" at home. It's called cooking my dinner. Sit me down and bring me stuff. That's why I go to restaurants.

    agree andy.
also too i feel the same way about salad bars.
my first feeling about salad bars is maybe it is not as clean as i would like it.
my snecond thought is "i really want someone to make ME a salad"
every evening it is wash, spin, chop, serve………..funny how a silly thing like a served salad makes me happy.

I feel the same way, I want to be waited on, cooked for and served. However there are exceptions and La Petit is one of them. We enjoy the "experience" and look forward to it every trip. I understand if you don't like to cook, but we think it's a fun thing to do for dinner that isn't offered anywhere near us. And La Petit has good breakfast specials for something quick and easy.

But I do like to cook. Cooking is my hobby and I study the science of cooking and prepare all the meals we eat at home. That has nothing to do with eating out. I just don't want to cook my meal in a restaurant.

I understand this is a positive experience for you guys. I'm glad you enjoy it. Many others do as well or the restaurant would have been gone a long time ago.

Chalet Suise, MJs and Matthews are my favorite.

Would like to try something new this year.

What is near airport for lunch? I usually land very early before noon and have been going to Casa Vieja from airport before I go to resort. I would like to try something new...

How about the West Deck? There are lots of threads here about how great it is.
