First night dinner ideas

Ok, we leave a week from tomorrow and get into Aruba around 4:30pm. We are staying at the Holiday Inn and are looking for opinions on where to grab a bite to eat within walking distance of the hotel. We also would like some place we don't have to make reservations.

Thanks

Jon

I would suggest Smokey Joe's which is within walking distance; great ribs and chicken. It is across from Playa Linda which is next door to the Holiday Inn. Another suggestion would be in the new mall across from Holiday Inn; Scala being one. There are other restaurants located in the mall and you may want to watch the dancing water performances at the maill at 7:30, 8:30 or 9:30 p.m.

Salt and Pepper is the best - have tapas or whole meals very relaxed and varied menu. It's across the street from the hard rock

Thanks for the responses. Does anyone know if you need reservations at the Pelican's Nest?

Thanks

Smokey Joe's was packed every night we passed by and the food smelled great. We never ate there, but it looked like a good spot.

I was not impressed with Salt and Pepper...

There are a bunch of small restaurants within walking distance that you should be able to walk right in and sit down, or have a short wait.
