    First timers need advice

My husband and I will be visiting Aruba for the first time in February and would love some suggestions for restaurants. We are fairly simple people and don't require fine dining but we do love seafood and would love a good lobster dinner if someone could guide us to a good place. We also like Italian food so any recommendations in that area would be appreciated also. Also would love to eat by the water if available. Any other suggestions for dining would be much appreciated. We are always open to unique places. Thanks!

    My thoughts.....
carribean lobster in the islands IMOP taste like shrimp. They aren't at all like the ones in USA.

italian- Azzuro, Sole Mare, Gianni's, La Terrazza
    water/ sand - Barefoot, Passions
My top 5; QuintaDel Carmine, Barefoot, Ricardo's, TierraDelSol, AnnaMaria's.

You may want to try Pelicans Nest. They have an excellent grilled grouper dinner. In December they were advertising a fresh lobster dinner. It is located on a pier between Holiday Inn and Playa Linda. Go and enjoy the nice sunset view.
Not sure when, but we will be back

We also love the grilled grouper at Pelicans nest. It is melt in your mouth wonderful. It is not expensive either. It was $21.50 in May for a large grouper filet, grilled veggies, rice and a roll. I think the roll is store bought but the rest is great. They do advertise fresh lobster but they don't have it everyday. It is only available when they can get it. You do sit right out on the water at the end of a pier located between Holiday Inn and Playa Linda. We park in the Holiday Inn parking lot by the casino and walk through their lobby to the boardwalk.
If you like Chinese, try Blossoms. They have 3 seating areas. One for traditional Chinese, one for Sushi and one for Teppanyaki tables. The food is excellent.

I am not a seafood eater, but the one place I always notice the lobster is at Sole Mare. There is a huge tank of them when you walk in. I cannot speak on taste or price of them. I do love the non seafood Italian dishes here.

Not on the water, not seafood and not Italian, but do yourself a big favor and check out Bavaria Aruba for outstanding German food. Serves as a nice change of pace after several meals on the water. We eat tons of Italian at home and never feel like getting it in Aruba. There is a thread in this section about it.
