About $24 - $28 each way per fare. It is less expensive to rent a car for the day, do some touring or shopping and then use the car as your ride to dinner that night.

Good idea! I guess we could return car after dinner and cab it back? or perhaps do that dinner the last night and drive back to the airport... Interesting ideas...

Aruba Royal http://www.arubaroyal.com/will deliver the vehicle to your resort the morning of and then pick up the following morning doing the paperwork then and there.

Amigo Car Rental http://www.amigocar.com/ will deliver the vehicle to you in the morning and then bring you back to their office to do the paperwork. In the a.m. you drive back to their office, close out the paperwork and they will drive you back to your resort.

We have reservations next month at Passions. Reviews I read online were good. It is our 10th wedding anniversary and our 7th trip to Aruba.

Alexlee you mention that new place, The Old Man and the Sea, I think we may check that one out once we get there too.

to me, driving to flying fishbone seems to be a very onerous trek. from our cab ride it seemed like it was a good 20 minutes off the main road through small streets. the return ride to the hotel was even worse as it was practically pitch dark - hard to imagine a tourist navigating the road back home. in the end, the comfort of a cab ride was worth the extra $25 imo.

also, my wife and i were not really impressed with food nor ambience at the flying fishbone. the mosquitoes were out en masse - so much that bug repellents were freely given out. also, for the price the experience was not worth it imo. but i guess if you had to, it is a place to visit once at the least while in aruba - but the old man and sea may be better option?

Thinking about canceling our FF reservation and eating at Simply Fish instead since we are staying at the Marriott. To those who have been to both, what are your thoughts?

Just wondering if the Old man and the sea is where Mirandi's used to be I thought they went out. Looks like it from the pictures may have to try it this trip

Ambianz opened last Sept/Oct. of last year in the old Mirandi location. Same owners as Delifrance (by Certified Mall). They are now closed. Here's some pic's of Ambianz. http://allaboutaruba.net/Ambianz.aspx

I just got back from Aruba for the first time, went to the Flying Fishbone and had a great meal, didn't use bug spray, was on the water...although we followed our waiter from the Screaming Eagle who took great care of us (Orlando)...

If you are looking for a really nice place thats romantic I'd definitely try Passions - on the water, up by Eagle Beach ... has a band/guy that plays requests for you, we danced by the sunset in front of our table, the waitress took our pics (seems like they all did) and we just had a really good time. Decently priced (not cheap) and great service / food.
