    Flying Fishbone or Barefoot?

I need to pick one of these places that are both rated high. If you had to pick one, which would it be and why? Location, ambience, portions, taste, and presentation. I'll probably do one this year and the other next year. Thanks for your help!

    Here's my 2cents
FF= huge cab bill 50-60$, tables on top of each other, ambience nice though. Food good
Barefoot= great food and staff, tables inside hut and on beach
if it was my choice I would do Barefoot

Flying Fishbone ! Sometime's the more difficult choice is the better one. We have been going to Flying Fishbone for years. Maybe that's because we get a car every year we go. It is a 30-45 min commitment..each way ...that is usually at a high traffic time to get there since you are crossing the island at around rush hour to get there. We have never eaten at Barefoot so I cannot judge unbiased.

Flying Fishbone. We've been to Flying Fishbone three times over the last four years. This year we also tried Barefoot.
Location: We always rent a car, so the distance to FF has never been a concern. We really enjoy driving around the island and we often stop at a couple local establishments on the way for a beverage. We usually make reservations during prime sunset time, so we usually sit a half hour ahead of time. At BF, there were still people utilizing the beach there and the noise from the restaurant next door can be intrusive. It just didn't seem to seem as private and cozy, even though the tables are a little more spread out.
Ambience: Hard to beat FF. If you enjoy dining on the beach it's the place to be.
Portions, Taste and Presentation: We thought that they were about equal.

We like both and the distance to Flying Fishbone is not an issue because we always have a rental car. The only thing I don't like about Flying Fishbone is that over the years they have added more and more tables to their small beach area. The first time we went there was around 2000 and the tables were nicely spaced so there was a nice romantic ambience but now I feel like there are too many tables too close together and the romance of the place is gone. We still go there with friends for a nice dinner on occasion but we go elsewhere (Passions) for a romantic sunset dinner. We do like the food better at FF over Barefoot but that is just a matter of personal preference. I would look at both of their menus online and see which one appeals to you more.

Photo below was taken at Flying Fishbone in April 2000 - alot less tables back then.
