Re: flyingfishbone

I just came back from Aruba on Fri 4/20. We celebrated my husband's birthday at the flying fishbone. That was one of the grestest restaurents I've been too. I sorry I did not know about this for the 16 years I've been going to Aruba. We had the table right in front with our feet in the water we also experienced a great sunset there. I would surely recommend this to anyone. Easy to get to by car we had exact directions from the internet.

Just came back on Friday and yes we had 5:00 reservations and we had the waterfront table what an experience. I glad we made the right choice. Excellent

The Flying Fishbone is a bit pricey but it is a wonderful dining experience. The ambiance of dining right on the beach as the sun sets is really very nice-get there by 6PM to be seated for sunset! The food is definitely upscale but well worth the price and the wine list is extensive. The service is also extremely good. We have been dining there the last 4 years and have NEVER had a bad experience. The only slight drawback to going there is the location-it is in Savaneta, which is in the southern part of the island well away from the high rise hotel area. You cannot get there by bus and taxis will run you $25-30 each way. Your best bet is to rent a car for the day and drive there yourself. I really encourage you to go and try it...you might get hooked (no pun intended) and find yourself going year after year!

Have driven to & eaten there about 4-5 times. It's a nice place but I think everyone gets caught up on the beach thing! To me the food is good but just good. For the pricey menu, sometimes lenghty expensive waits @ the bar (with reservations) & not to mention the cab fare ($60-$ 75) round trip if you don't have a car, I'd go 1st class to Matilde or Sunset Grill. Don' kill me it's just my opinion!!!!

I tend to agree, but FFB is definitely a once in a life time experience. And we always went in the dark, never at sunset. We only go now if we have a rental. Lately we have been just as happy at nearby Marina Pirata where dh can get his fresh fish. Sunset Grille is another one of our fav romantic restaurants. Request the "honeymooner's table" outside on the northwest corner.
