    Food Stores

Do all grocery stores in Aruba close early on sundays? i noticed lings closes at 1:00, which is earlier than when we arrive (which is a sunday this year, ugh). but do the smaller ones close early, too, on sundays?

Super Food is open until 2 pm. Sundays in Aruba are still considered a "day of rest" Stores downtown are closed as well unless there is a cruise ship in town, when some will open for limited hours.

A reminder to everyone, grocery stores will be closed for the national holidays of Good Friday and Easter Monday as well as Easter Sunday.

Cheng's is open later on Sunday - into the evening hours. We've gone in there to get necessities on Sunday's before. Parking can be an issue, but we always managed!

there is a grocery on the road heading inland (might be chengs, i forgot the name) it is on the main road before you make the turn in for madame janette's.

coming from the gold coast area head toward the downtown.
go past the mariott (campus) and continue straight.

turn left at the traffic light where they are building the new super mkt.

go about 1/2 mile or less and chengs/or another name will be on your right. the road to madadm janette's will be a little further on the right (if that gives you an idea of where you are)

chengs and a few of the other smaller asian run grocery stores are open when the larger ones are closed.

thanks Lisa & Andrea. If the smaller ones are open, that's good because there's one right by the gold coast that we run to for smaller things. we do a big shopping at ling's and then during the week we shop at the smaller one.

Yes, Andrea. That is Chengs. We go there on Sundays if we need to when the others are closed.

Gaby, we are at Gold Coast as well. There are a couple of small grocery stores when you turn right out of GC and follow that road toward town. We have found Chengs to have more options, however, than those smaller ones. If you only need a couple of incidentals, then those small ones are very convenient.
