Hmmm.........may have to add FSH @ Manchebo to my list.
We have always enjoyed dinners there.

Remember the Ambassador Special? A nice steak, salad, taters and veggie, wine, coffee and dessert???
And.......they'd ring the bell and say Oooo La La

We haven't been to the French Steakhouse in years but it used to be a "must" back in the day. I do remember the "Ooooooo La La....." LOL!

We really like Ike's Bistro though - that's one of our favorites now! They have a really great creative menu.

Here's Ike's menu, too - my favorites are the scallops and the seabass. Would like to try the Chef's Tasting Menu one of these days.

We love Ike's Bistro. We've gone there on our last two annual trips. My favorite dish is the shrimp risotto, although I don't see it listed on the new menu. I guess I'll have to venture out and try something new this time. We used to go to French Steak House, but haven't been there in about five years. However, we really liked it.

My review from the FSH visit in 2013..... I would definately go again even without the Ambassador Special! "The decor is quite nice in a 90's sort of way..... clean functional, not too modern and just a touch dated. We each had the Ambassador special which is a nice traditional 5 course meal with each of us selecting a Filet. The melon was a a bit under ripe for our first course. When the salad arrived..... we got to the point of 'would you like some fresh cracked pepper?' Of course we did... the waiter reached into his pocket and brought out a teeny tiny McCormick pepper grinder....!!!! I cracked up and will always think of that whenever I'm offered pepper on a salad. The silverware is set for a 3 course meal..... so when the waiter picked up the salad dishes he simply set the used knife and forks on the table for reuse, rather than replacing them. This is one of my hot buttons with service in a restaurant. It's such a simple thing to train the servers to replace the silverware.... I didn't complain... just went with the flow. The steaks were excellent but the decafe coffee was old! Was a nice meal and an excellent value. Spent 95 with a wine (coupons covered wine) for DW and a good tip. I rate FSH a solid B and recommended for the value!"

I have been going to the FSH for over 20 years. Always have a good experience there. Way back when, the Ambassador special included a bottle of wine. Since my wife does not drink, I was forced to drink the whole bottle myself. This past June I was surprised to see that their signature dish (Chirasco (sp?) steak was no longer even on the menu. About 2 years ago, I was sorry to find out the Chris (once the head waiter) has passed away. We had known Chris even since he worked at the Talk of the Town Restaurant which was also owned by Ike Cone.
