As a tradition over the past three years, we enjoy going to this Italian restaurant close to our hotel the first night once our three families arrive from different parts of North America. Great pizza, good service and very enjoyable. We are a group of 14 and always forget to make a reservation. We arrive and obviously have to wait until a large table is available. The staff are friendly but understandably stressed as they want to accomodate us in a timely manner.
Well this year, I thought I would get on top of things and make a reservation ahead of time! Much to my surprise planning 6 months in advance does not do me any good. The restaurant does not want to give me a 7:30pm reservation? They want us to come at 6:30pm. I have explained that due to the other families travel schedule into Aruba, this would not work. They do not want to give us a reservation for that time but have directed us to their downtown location instead. We do not want to go downtown. So they are forcing us to either not go to their restaurant or show up as we have in the past and make them upset that we "just showed up without a reservation for such a large group"!
Does this make any sense?
