Most bartenders on Aruba will not be familiar with a rum swizzle but will make them if you tell them what's in it. The version I make has equal parts orange and cranberry juice with goslings dark rum; light rum and apricot brandy.

One of my FAVORITE parts of travel day is being greeted at Pata Pata bar at La Cabana with a "Welcome Home Miss Jacki" and an Aruba Ariba in the bartender's hand

DW's favorite drink, she gets one almost everywhere we go to make sure no one makes it better than someone else. She calls it quality control...

used to go to in the winter to North Conway New Hampshire for skiing. We Used to go to the Red Parka Pub for a Bloody Mary called a drunken shrimp. The straw would have a large shrimp at the bottom of the glass. So finish of the drink and eat a drunken shrimp.

I don't think Scott has tequila so a Bloody Maria may not happen, but you should still try the Bloody Mary bar.

    The Aruba-Perfected Margarita:

7 parts premium tequila (cheap stuff = hangover)
4 parts Cointreau (not Triple Sec - because you love yourself)
3 parts freshly squeezed lime juice <-- this is key to a successful marg - buy lots of limes... who are you kidding?
Splenda to taste (keeps you slim so you don't sink to the bottom of the pool while drinking one or two dozen)

Throw the whole shootin' match in a blender with a ton of ice (it is Aruba after all) and blend like crazy.

Pour into big red solo cups and garnish with a 90F degree swimming pool. Drink quickly to get where you're going.

    Repeat.

**We don't rim the glasses with salt because, you know, we're healthy.

Brady Bear, the Dark and Stormy is just ginger beer with a dark rum floater. As the rum flows through the ginger beer it's supposed to look like a storm cloud. I use Black Seal rum. They're really good!
