    gift cards/certificates

I know there is an old thread with this information, but I believe there may be restaurants that no longer exist and there are now new places. I would like to purchase gift cards for a few restaurants before we go in June. Anyone know restaurants that offer gift cards that I can pre-purchase?

Madam Janettes and Amadeus and Cubas Cookin are Matthews offer gift cards.
There are others i am sure.
Make a list of your restaurants, and then shoot them emails to ask.

I get friends or family going to purchase them in advance for me and just bring them home. Maybe someone going could do the same for you.

I've been googling and searching but then I got lazy and thought I'd ask. I've found to be careful with restaurants that are U.S. chains. Even though hubby and I eat solely at local restaurants, for some reason the teenagers like the familiarity of a Tony Romas or Fridays on occasion. Tony Romas states on their site that gift cards are usable only in the U.S. I'm waiting to hear back from Fridays regarding the same. And, Andrea, unbelievably, in the prior 10 visits to Aruba, we have not been to Madam Jeanettes!!! I've told the family it is a must for June!! Thanks all.

you may find the same re: Tgifridays as tony romas being valid only in the usa.
we had a gift card for ruth's chris issued here in the usa. it was accepted at the ruth's chris in aruba………but it took a little "doing". the manager had to approve it. we made the inquiry when we made the reservation.

I think your question was answered... however, I'm thinking you might want to take advantage of discounted gift certificates for some restaurants. Aruba restaurants don't seem to discount gift cards/certificates like some in the states do. The AGA website offers 50 dollar value gift certificates for 45 dollars. Does this help you?

The AGA $50 certificates are a great idea.

Yes CP, that may be just what I'm looking for. I've heard of the program, but haven't participated in it. I'll give it a try this year. Thanks!

We had 5 of those that we used in May 2013. We used at buccaneer, French steakhouse , that's all I can remember right now.
