New High End Wendy’s Experimental Restaurant to open in Aruba.

After months of market research, Wendy’s Restaurants in conjunction with its Aruban partners, van Slip and Hooge N.V. are pleased to announce the launching of the latest healthy fast food restaurant. The restaurant is to be located at the west end of the Costa Linda Beach Resort parking lot, presently occupied by Pizza Bobs. Construction is to commence April 22, 2010 and is expected to be completed by early September 2010. The new restaurant will feature a special Caribbean menu containing many healthy items.
The design of the restaurant is of itself very unique embracing over 25,000sq ft of terraces and gardens and is expected to rival the gardens of the Hyatt. The present structure will be demolished and replaced with a 4 storey combination casino, office tower and restaurant with a drive through, while respecting and adhering to the beautiful architectural style of the main Costa Linda Beach Resort building. The architectural firm of Coleman Partners, who will be designing the new Ritz Carlton Aruba, have produced an outstanding design. The innovative design employs a combination of solar power, wind turbines and water driven amusements. The roof is dedicated to hydroponic gardens where special tomatoes , lettuce and onions will be grown for use in the restaurant. The onions are a varietal Vidalia and are known for the extra charisma and gentle after effect they bring to deep fried rings. A full time gardening crew of 15 will oversee these gardens.
A special Aruban menu contest is to be held in the coming weeks to give this new dawn of Wendy’s a truly local flavor.
The restaurant is expected to employ some 1200 people and cater to guests of Casa Del Mar, Costa Linda, Bucuti, late night partiers, and all others on the Island. This will also be Wendy’s first foray into catering of events such as weddings, bar mitzvahs, and other celebratory events. Based upon the success of this pilot project, Wendy’s is looking at entering the North American market with this venture.
To minimize vehicular traffic entering the main entrance of Costa Linda, the Aruba Government has arranged with both Arubus and de Palm for a special 24 hour service and bus stop adjacent to the restaurant.

Named after the daughter of amiable founder Dave Thomas, this Ohio-based chain is more inviting than your typical fast-food joint, thanks to comforting touches like carpeted floors, Tiffany-style lamps and plenty of foliage. The signature square burgers are made-to-order; chicken sandwiches are available grilled or fried. Thick fries, meaty chili and stuffed baked potatoes round out a menu that includes a cool, ultra-thick chocolate Frosty.
