In speaking with Mike and Tina, owners of Hollywood Smokehouse in San Nicolaas, I learned they will be relocating the restaurant closer to the main tourist area. Exact details have not been finalized. However, the San Nicolaas location will be closing on Saturday. (I'm quite sad that I will be without a quality brisket platter for a while.) Yet, glad to see the Hollywood will be open in a new location soon.
So, those driving directions I have to the Hollywood will have to be updated. And as soon as I have solid intel, they'll be re-done.
While I prefer out of the way places to eating at places in the more touristy parts of Aruba, my husband and I tried to eat lunch at Hollywood in December when we were there. As soon as we pulled up a man came out of no where trying to wash our windows with a dirty towel. We told him no but he immediately pulled our wipers out and kept wiping. We couldn't get out of the car with him standing there nor could we drive away without possibly harming him. My husband handed him a dollar through the window and he was insistent we roll the window down. At this point my husband had a gut check and decided to drive away. My husband is from Detroit and grew up in Gary Indiana so he isn't one to scare easy but we were concerned about the rental car if we were to have gone inside with a seemingly unhappy man outside wanting more money. We were disappointed we didn't get to try the restaurant but will be glad to check them out next time in their new location.

The same thing happenned to us at Hollywood. We stayed, but, couldn't stop staring out to watch my car instead of truly enjoying the awesome food. Guess that may be why they are moving? Can't wait to hear about the new location. Mike and his Team have a great product and make the trip to Aruba very special. Keep us posted Daniel.
