    Honeymoon Dining

Hello everyone, my fiance and I are staying at bucuti for our honeymoon in June 2019, VERY EXCITED!!

I would like some advice on dining.

Best happy hours? We want to take full advantage of these.

I want to do at least 1 or 2 romantic dinners and I have read passions & barefoot are good spots?
Do we need reservations for these?

Also, because were staying at bucuti, I'm sure we'll be eating some lunches & dinners at elements. How is the food, and do we need reservations to dine there?
We won't be doing the fancy dinner on the beach because i'm a picky eater, and all I can really find info on is that dinner instead of the restaurant itself.

My travel agent said we don't need to make any reservations until we get there and the front desk at bucuti will help us do anything. This would be ideal, however, i'v read tons of reviews of people who say make reservations way in advance.
I don't want to miss out on going places, but also doing it day by day would be great.
    What's your opinion?

welcome to the aruba.com community forum

YES, make the reservations @ barefoot and passions.
both of those beach side restaurants are very popular.

the concierge at the bucuti will help you well with "elements", so that can wait til you arrive.

some fun happy hours are at Lacabana pool bar (about 1/3 mile up the road from the bucuti across from eagle beach), bugaloe beach bar is always FUN (on the beach at the Hilton)

make those 2 dining reservations as not to be disappointed.

also too...if there are particular watersports that you MUST DO, make those reservations as well.

    caution.........do not overbook.
    leave plenty of beach time!!

also.......use the search feature in the upper right hand corner.
enter HAPPY HOURS and see what comes up

Happy Honeymoon.... and welcome to the forum.....

You have lots of time to check out the forum to answer all of your questions. We like Barefoot better than Passions.... although both are good and definitely do reservations. You can also do a nice romantic dinner at Elements where you are staying. Bugaloe is great happy hour. Take a walk to Manchebo and enjoy lunch or a happy hour at Pega Pega.

We typically stay at the end of June each year..... if we run in to you..... I'm always good for a drink for a honeymoon couple! Of course, you'll have to listen to my 'Live, Love and Laugh' toast.....!

If you plan to eat at Elements, at the Bucuti, you will definitely want reservations for dinner. We stayed there over Thanksgiving and were refused when we asked to go in for dessert because we didn’t have a reservation. The concierge is happy to help. At lunch you can get by without a reservation, eat at the Sand Bar or walk to one of the nearby restaurants. Breakfast has a nice variety. If you are staying in a Tara Suite you can have breakfast in the lounge or at Elements. We felt Elements had the best selection. Our only complaint was the food at the buffet wasn’t warm enough. Easily resolved by going to the omelette station for your eggs.

Barefoot and Passions are very popular. Other options would be Madame Janette, Quinta Del Carmen (lovely courtyard dining), or Yemanja downtown. Aruba has some wonderful restaurants. It’s hard to go wrong.

Thanks! Unfortunately we couldn't afford the Tara suite so we have an oceanview.

Welcome to the Aruba.com Community Forum and congrats on the upcoming wedding. Fabulous choice in Honeymoons too!

We loved Ruins del Mar at the Hyatt on our honeymoon - many many years ago! The grounds are really nice to walk around too so get there early if you chose to go.

You will be perfectly happy with the oceanview. We splurged and stayed in the Tara Suite but to be perfectly honest we didn’t spend that much time in the room and the oceanview rooms would have been just as nice.
