Okay, my humble opinion, the best pastry on the island comes from the Huchada Pasteleria in Santa Cruz. Went there last night after driving by the place for more than 10 years. Stupid me. Anyway, bought several items, shared them with Mrs. 44 and friends after a nice dinner. Absolutely, stunningly delicious. They are only a darn close second to Rocco's Pastry Shop in NYC which is my platinum standard for pastry in the universe.
THere are a few tables in there if you want to eat in but no one was doing that. This was early evening and people were buying desserts, bread, and hustling home. No matter. Take it with you and enjoy. This is an official MUST STOP for each and every time I'm on the island. Will probably become a weekly pilgrimage for Mrs. 44 and me.
