We sampled a lot of restaurants our last time on the Island.... the ones we must return to on our next trip.

1) Madame Janettes - had our anniversary dinner here, we were seated outdoors and we had our dinner spoiled by rain. We did manage to squeeze in some eating - and what we had was spectacular. MJ's was great about the rain - they picked up our bar tab and gave us a complimentary dessert at the bar. We will defintely be heading back! I still dream of the grouper!

2) Pinchos - in-laws convinced us to go here. I had heard mixed reviews and it wasn't on our "must eat" list, but we had a great dinner here. The food was very good and the ambiance was amazing. Definitely going back for an evening of drinks and dinner!

3) Que Pasa - had our first dinner of our trip here. Enjoyed the menu here and it was another unexpected hit.

2 dissapointments

1) El Gaucho - Had heard so many good things, but I was very dissapointed. Steaks were not high quality, I received an undercooked sausage and just not what I had hoped for. Will not return.

2) Yemanja Wood Grill - Dinner started out great, had one of the best soups I had ever tasted. Atmosphere was lovely. Then dinner came - my salmon was a huge disapointment and my wifes dish was underwhelming as well. We are probably going to try this place again due to some reccomendations and hopes that we were just there on an off night.

Enjoy!

OM&TS, overpriced and overated, extremely disappointing.

Very sorry for your OM&TS experience...we feel a little responsible based on our glowing recommendation. We knew it was pricey....but enjoyed it.

Need to look into Screaming Eagle....know nothing about it.

We enjoyed Old Man & The Sea, too, and have also been recommending it but that was last Sept. and alot can change over the months. Not sure if we'll go on our trip this fall because it hasn't been getting very consistent reviews lately.

The Screaming Eagle and Passions are ALWAYS on our list though - love both places.

No problem, OM&TS had been receiving great reviews up until late, as Amy said, not so consistent lately.

Screaming Eagle is not for everyone, and certainly not cheap, nor appealing to everyone's taste. What we had below...Cannot speak for the girls, but l had the carte blanche...as you guessed I am the most adventurous diner in the family...and it was amazing.

alaskan snow crab meat and claws
on salad ‘a la grecque’ with light tzaziki dressing 16
caesar salad
traditional salad with romaine lettuce, anchovies dressing 9.5
lobster bisque 8.5
------------------------------------------------------------
grilled sea scallops
hollandaise sauce, sautéed herb artichokes and sun dried tomato risotto 31.5
beef tips “stroganoff”
grilled tenderloin beef tips, pommes lyonnaise and sugar snaps 29.5
------------------------------------------------------------
carte blanche
our chefs daily changing 3 course surprise menu 59
Lobster cappucino - served in goblet w/ lobster bisque with frothed milk

Sea weed salad with crab claws and tuna tartare

Duck breast and seared duck liver over sauerkrat mashed potatoes

lemon pie w/ lemon sorbet and a choclolte mousse in a goblet
------------------------------------------------------------
trilogy of chocolate mousse
layers of dark, white and milk chocolate mousse with summer berries ice cream 9.5
