I have not had a chance to write about our holiday trip, but will say that for now Screaming Eagle is off our list. They have changed their menu and there was just not that much which appealed to us. Dh had looked forward to the carte blanche for a second time. Now they will only prepare it for the entire table. Dd and I are not that daring . Service was fine.

We had another perfect dinner at Windows on Aruba. Due to price and menu it is not for everyone, but our Christmas dinner was perfect. 12 people and not a single complaint, even from the finicky teenagers. They ate Chateaubriand Life is good.

Passions has won our hearts as our favorite restaurant. Always consistant with excellent service. After a long relaxing dinner under the stars dh annouced Passions was our new Aruba ritual...first and last nights dinner on Aruba.

and knowing that the same people who own the Screaming Eagle, own the Flying Fishbone, I add the FFB as well.

The opinion of my family and my family only.

We aren't very picky eaters - I'm allergic to seafood (I know I know - cheap date here). My husband and I loved Simply Fish and for lunch we loved MoomBa's! Bingo's was also great to have lunch at.

Regardless, have a fun time and enjoy your time at what ever places you go to! You will soon have your own "favorite".

OK, we are back from our first trip to Aruba. We will go back in the near future. Great time had by all! We took the advice from some of the posts here. After eating at some of the highly recommended restaurants, here is what my family had to say:

Passions - by far, #1 100/100 based on food, atmosphere, service and price.
    Madame Jeanette’s- a close second scoring a 96/100
    Chef's Table- #3 - 94/100, the food was excellent.
El Gaucho- #4- 93/100, the steak was superb, they did make an error with my plate...
Then, we tried some restaurants that were not listed often on this post... this was a mistake and goes to show you the power of the forum...
Texas De Brazil - 83/100, too expensive when you have so many other authentic options on the island
Smokey Joe's- 61/100, good ribs, OK service, too loud, terrible sides, no real island flavor, poor choice

Thanks for ALL of your help!

These are 3 of our favorites as well! We also like El Gaucho for steak (not much for atmosphere but the Gaucho steak is great and the leftovers make good steak sandwiches the next day!)

    Welcome home!
