    information for large parties

how long does it take to get a response back from a restaurant? we are trying to coordinate a dinner for the rehearsal. We emailed Le Petit Café 5 months ago, no response. And we just emailed them again a couple of weeks ago. Should we look for a new venue? Is that normal?

Just my opinion of course, but I think I would look for a new venue. It's too important an occasion to have to be worrying about whether they will get back to you or not. From my experience, restaurants get back to you in a day or so. Most recently I hadn't heard from a place for a week so I emailed again and they got back to me that day.

thanks Peg, that's what I was thinking, too. I told my stepdaughter to look for something new.

i would ask your wedding planner to make a call to them.
    or
also too, with the price of international calls now down to pennies per minute, using skype or another internet calling plan, how about you or your daughter calling them?
if you have your heart set on le petit cafe, why not make the call?

Dont know how large your party is, but Le Petite might not have the room. Most smaller restaurants dont like to take up a large amount of their space for a large party. Might try a place with more seating capacity.

actually they did respond. they said they responded back a few months but we never got it. but they did respond. they have a separate room that we can use. I'm not sure about the price, though, so they may look for something else.

using the search feature and tagging you can look up to see other suggestions re: rehearsal dinner places.
i have always said my first choice for a dinner of that sort would be Pinchos.

Moomba seems to be pretty popular for what you are looking to do.

With a big party..... and a lot of first timers to Aruba.... why not check out Gilligans at the Radisson? It's right on the beach and should be able to do a good job for you! How's that for within walking distance...??
