La Dome

We recently returned from Aruba and were dissapointed that one of our favorate restaurants, La Dome was closed. Does anyone know how long ago they closed and what happened to cause them to close besides the current economy?

Per Le Dome's website:

until further notice.

Dear Visitor,

This year Le Dome Restaurant is closed during the low season.

Currently we are looking for a new location of our Restaurant.

I hate to say bad things about a once good restaurant, but....the last 2 years we went I was disappointed in the food....went 2 years in a row figuring maybe it was an off day or something.....so do not know if they changed management, chefs or what, but food was only okay and so not worth the price....

liz do you have any information re: ledome's situation? and what happened to the plans for them to relocate to the tierra del sol golf course area?

i think they should take over the lighthouse restuarant.

then again, i haven't dined at ledome in recent years. i think it was 1999 was my last visit there.

They closed while we we down there in May. Called to confirm our reservations made in April for our anniversary, and by May 17 they closed. We loved celebrating our anniversary there. This year we celebrated at Windows on Aruba. It was so good that we went back our last night. Hope Le Dome can make a come back.

Unless there is a lot next door, there is now a for sale sign on the property.

Unfortunatly we were informed in Aruba that Le Dome has closed there doors and I have not heard anything towards them openinganywhere else. We will miss that fine little restaurant and it's good people.

We went to Le Dome this past March after not being there for many years. The feeling I left with was it was too bad they had not updated the restaurant. With so many new places to dine with lovely atmosphere this restaurant was missing the boat.

Sadly, this restaurant is now closed but I can't help feeling that if you don't keep up with the "times" you will loose out to competition and there is so much to choose from now.

Too sad that Le Dome has to close. It was a good restaurant.

Expanding palm beach destroy business for others. And the financial situation keep tourists away.

That location definitely isn't reopening... crazy thing is the owner of the restaurant also owns the property so it must have been some crazy reason for him to close...

The property is now for sale ($ 3 million to be exact) and it comes with plans for a 16 unit condo... go figure
