We walk this every trip when we stay at Costa Linda. Usually, we stop at Chalet Suisse, but on this last trip, we walked to La Terraza at Paradise Beach Villas. It took about 20 minutes. The sidewalk runs up to around MVC. Then its a path. It is lit fairly well in some spots, but not in others. We turn on the flashlights on our phones. As Andrea said, You can cross over to the sidewalk when you get to Costa Linda.

Thank you all. It sounds like there are a number of places we could walk to. I will certainly have to check it out. I think my son would love the kids/kids camp...he loves to meet other kids. I would love not going broke as I continue to explore Aruba as often as possible so it may work out.

There is a small casino on site, right? My wife would want to be able to go out for a bit prior to me heading out each night to play poker so a casino is a must. I am not certain how much I will like going back an forth in a cab to the Hilton but I am considering all alternatives to get me on the island in Feb.

I am getting pretty interested in the "new" experience. I won't book anything till I return at the end of August but I am intrigued. Now if Jetblue would lower there prices so it does not cost over 4k to fly my family of 3 to Aruba that would be terrific. I think I have my wife willing to experiment with a new trip but she won't consider not flying direct....I tried to have that discussion but was shutdown quickly, lol.

After many years at the Marriotts, Divi Aruba and Amsterdam Manor, we're heading into our third year as La Cabana owners and like it very much. If you are there in August, you might ask to see a room or two as it might be a little different than what you are accustomed to at the Ritz. There are also some good 3D images on the website here: www.lacabanabrc.com.

The overall vibe is pretty casual. Happy Hours are a lot of fun. We don't do high season and some complain about getting palapas then, but its never an issue for us in May. I do that walk past Alhambra for exercise regularly in the morning, albeit with sturdy sneakers. Hollywood Smokehouse is there too.

Thanks Rhys, I think you have a great idea about seeing a room and thankfully our very own wonderful Jacki has passed along an invite to come and see the property and her room- thanks again Jacki!
